Buckeye Team Coaches

A big thanks to our volunteer coaches, without them we would not be able to provide this service with such great value!

Jay Poole

Professor Jay Poole is the Dean at The Wake Institute main campus in Bobcaygeon. With his extensive knowledge in the marine industry, qualification as a WSWO course instructor, certification as a pleasure craft operator instructor, VP of Wakeboarding title on the WSWO board, certification as a wakeboard and wakeskate judge, and his PhD in fun; Jay is more than qualified for his position. Jay's background in the marine industry is the platform for his success in the wakeboard world. Above and beyond his wakeboarding and coaching ability is his knowledge and interest in the marine industry, also making him our head of the mechanical engineering department. Jay's wakeboarding skills have been developed through years of professional training and fine-tuning. His competitive experience and knowledge in wakeboard judging is a continued asset to his students. He is the driving force behind the progression of the Buckeye Team. His breadth of knowledge about everything marine affiliated is a constant influence to the faculty and students alike. This was illustrated by his "top new instructor" honours at the Canadian Water Ski Instructors Course. Being the top new instructor in Canada is nothing compared to Jay's dedication to the development of his qualified teaching team and students. Professor Poole is constantly driving the team and students to new heights.
