During the ice storm both of the power lines connecting us to the grid were taken down by falling tree limbs. Like the majority of the residents and businesses in the Kawartha Lakes, we were left out of power for a considerable amount of time. With the determination to get Buckeye back up and running while considering the well being of our crew, we were able work with Hydro One to restore power to our facilities on Friday, April 11th, 2025.
Service Delays
As a result of this closure, we are currently experiencing delays in our service schedule. All repairs and services had to be halted during the outage period, creating a backlog that our team is now addressing.
Impact on Deliveries & Pick-ups
These combined factors are having an impact on the timing of customer boat deliveries and pick-ups. Our team is currently in the process of rescheduling boat deliveries affected by the closure. We’ve also heard from several customers who are requesting to reschedule their deliveries due to the current conditions.
Weather & Seasonal Considerations
Though weather is warming, cooler nighttime temperatures still affect our ability to fully prepare boats for the season. Lakes remain icy with high water levels, so we're monitoring conditions closely while taking precautions during the summer-izing process to ensure the safest and optimal operations for your boat and our crew.
